International Longshoremen's Memorial Day At PortMiami

MIAMI, FLORIDA Each year on International Longshoremen’s Memorial Day, ILA Locals 1416 and 1922, honor all those members who have been injured or have paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.

“On behalf of the PortMiami Team, I want to take a moment to pay homage and express our deepest respect and gratitude to all those members who have been injured at work or are no longer with us today,” said Deputy Port Director and COO Kevin T. Lynskey. “We honor their commitment and dedication while working at PortMiami.”

“It is our duty and obligation to continue working with our management partners; improving training and safety programs and engaging our membership to ‘Think Safety’ every minute they are on the job. As we honor our fallen ILA heroes - injured or killed on the jobs - during Workers Memorial Day 2016, we recommit ourselves to eliminating all workplace accidents and provide our members with a safe working environment,” stated Harold Daggett, president of the National International Longshoremen Association.
