    Ground Transportation Companies

All pre-arranged ground transportation companies doing business at the Port of Miami will be required to have an active permit. PDF Note that initial administration fees for first time applicants and companies with expired permits includes the initial processing fee as well as the annual permit fee. Companies renewing their yearly permit before the expiration date are only required to pay the annual permit fee.

All vehicles in the permitted company's fleet coming onto the Port will be required to have a Port of Miami issued transponder. All ground transportation companies doing business at the Port of Miami must ensure their transponders are working properly. Two possible issues that would cause the transponders to lose signal power are: metalized windshields and existing Sunpass transponders.

If your vehicle is included in the metalized vehicle windshield list PDF, is required that you use a license plate tag transponder on the front bumper of your vehicle. Check the metalized windshield list PDF to verify your vehicle's transponder requirement.

Vehicles using the transponder decal that already have a Sunpass transponder in the recommended area of your windshield (upper center) are to place the Port of Miami transponder four inches to the right or left of the Sunpass transponder.

By creating an authorized user profile with our Permitting Section 305-347-PORT, you will be granted easy and secured access to your Transaction Log online, from the comfort of your home or office.
