Commercial Disposal Facilities
The Public Works and Waste Management Department operate one of the nation's largest integrated solid waste disposal systems, consisting of the Resources Recovery waste-to-energy facility, the North Dade Landfill (a trash-only facility) and the South Dade Landfill (a garbage and trash facility).
These facilities are supported by three regional waste transfer stations. The system is designed to be used by permitted private haulers, municipal waste haulers and permitted landscapers.

Garbage, trash, yard trash, off-road and automobile tires, construction and demolition debris, and dead animals. Asbestos is also accepted but you must obtain authorization from the Miami-Dade Department of Permitting, Environment and Regulatory Affairs (305-372-6925) and make arrangements for the disposal of the material with the facility (305-258-2830) 24 hours in advance. |

Payment Procedures
The following methods of payment are accepted at the North Dade Landfill, South Dade Landfill, Resources Recovery and Regional Transfer Stations:
- company check
- personal check
- money order
- Visa or MasterCard
No cash is accepted. Only first-party personal and company checks are accepted. The check writer's or company's name and address must be pre-printed on the check by the bank (no starter checks or counter checks). Checks preprinted with a P.O. Box address will be accepted only if a physical address is also provided.
A credit account is also available to qualified customers. To open a credit account a Letter of Credit, Indemnity Bond, Certificate of Deposit or Cash Deposit is required. For more information on establishing an account, call 305-514-6739 or 6742.
For Landscapers to dispose at the Trash and Recycling Centers (TRCs), you must pre-purchase landscaper coupons from the Department's Administrative Office or the South Dade Landfill Administrative Office. Coupons are not sold at the TRCs. Coupons are the only forms of payment accepted at the TRCs.

*In the event that the scale(s) are unavailable, the disposal fee will be based on the total cubic yard payload capacity of the vehicle converted to tons using the Schedules of Weights and Measures that are available at the Clerk of the Board.
**Available only to permitted haulers and municipalities with long-term disposal contracts.

****Landscapers disposing at the Trash and Recycling Centers must purchase coupons that cost $23.06 per visit for pickup trucks, vans and trailers 6 feet high, 6 feet wide and 10 feet long, and $76.88 per visit for large trailers greater than 6 cubic yards in the cargo area.

Landscaper Coupons are sold at the following locations Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4 p.m. (closed on legal holidays):

To order by mail, send your order and payment to Public Works and Waste Management, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Office Plaza, 2525 N.W. 62 Street, 5th Floor, Miami, Florida 33147, Attention: TRC Coupons by Mail. Include $7.50 for postage and handling.
