ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION REPORT

RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURES:

 

Florida Department of Transportation has advised the that CSXT Railroad will be rehabilitating the Railroad Crossing Surface on SW 88th Street (AKA Kendall Drive) and just west of the 874 (Don Shula) Expressway beginning Friday, February 10, 2012 at 8 pm thru Noon Tuesday February 14, 2012.  For more information on this closure contact Paola Baez at 305-470-5333 or e-mail  paola.baez@dot.state.fl.us

 

ROADWAY CLOSURES REQUESTED BY FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF

TRANSPORTATION:

 

State Road (SR) 112 (AKA I-195) over North Miami Avenue; FDOT FIN No. 405578-1-52-01: Please note that for safety reasons in order to comply with OSHA regulations the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has requested the partial and/or full closure of North Miami Avenue at SR 112 (AKA I-195) overpass beginning on Monday, July 18, 2011 through March 31, 2012.  The FDOT's project consists of widening the mainline and bridges of the SR 112 (AKA I-195).  Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION/CLOSURE ACTIVITIES:

 

SW 27th Avenue from South Bayshore Drive to Tigertail Avenue and from US-1 to SW 28th Terrace; Project No. 20100517: Work under this project shall include, but is not limited to, the following: Furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment and tools and performing all operations necessary for the construction and installation of drainage structures, curb and gutters, sidewalk and traffic separator; also tree relocations, tree planting and tree removal and disposal. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 30, 2012.  At this time, no mainline road closing foreseen, motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

SW 38th Street from SW 94th Avenue to SW 97th Avenue; Project No. 20100719: The work required for this contract shall include, but not limited to alignment of the roadway in order to bring the existing road to current County standards, installation of new sidewalks at the south side of the road, and relocation of the existing catch basin as needed.  Mainline Closure: The majority of the work will require temporary and partial closure of roads. Also, some temporary and total closure are scheduled, however local access to neighboring properties and residences will be maintained at all times while roadway restoration is ongoing.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or follow maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour signs. Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 31, 2012.

 

SW 42nd Street and SW 122nd Avenue and SW 42nd Street and SW 127th Avenue; Project No. 20110036:  The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 31, 2012. Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

SW 80th Avenue between SW 28th Street to SW 30th Street and SW 30th Street between SW 79th Court to SW 81st Avenue; Project No. 20100388: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 29, 2012. Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

SW 92nd Avenue And SW 144th Street; Project No. 20090314: Will improve traffic capacity at SW 92nd Avenue and SW 144th Street.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 31, 2012.  Working Hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.  No mainline road closing foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

Drainage Improvement Project San Sebastian Phase I: SW 132nd Avenue and SW 133rd Avenue and SW 45th Terrace and SW 47th Street; Project No. 20110042:  This project will to improve the drainage in the area which has been documented by flooding in this vicinity.  This work includes the construction and installation of drainage structures, exfiltration drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding and miscellaneous roadway restoration including curb and gutter, and sidewalks as needed. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 30, 2012.  No mainline road closing are foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

 

SW 137th Avenue And SW 344th Street; Project No. 20090314:    Will improve traffic capacity at SW 137th Avenue and SW 344th Street.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.  Working Hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.  No mainline road closing foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

 

SW 147th Avenue from SW 200th Street to SW 248th Street; Project No. 20100388: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012. Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

Caribbean Boulevard from SW 110 Court and Busway; Project No. 20100669: The Work under this Contract includes, but not limited to reconstructing the existing four (4) lane roadway to proper lane widths, drainage curb and gutter, pedestrian ramps,  pavement marking and signings, decorative roadway lighting and brick pavers.  The Contractor continues with the construction of the ex-filtration drainage at westbound leg of Caribbean Boulevard, the eastbound leg is open to traffic one lane one way basis.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or follow maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour signs.

 

SW 152nd Street and SW 77th Avenue (Intersection); Project No. 20100427: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

SW 157th Avenue from SW 288th Street to SW 296th Street; Project No. 20100725: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 29, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

Franjo Road from US-1 to SW 184th Street; Project No. 20100388: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

SW 184th Street from SW 137th Avenue to SW 147th Avenue; Project No. 20100394:  This roadway improvement project includes the constructing of a five lane roadway including center turn lane, sidewalk, curb and gutter, continuous storm drainage system, roadway lighting, signage, traffic signalization, 24-inch and 16-inch water mains, and 24-inch force main.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.  Mainline Closure:  Motorists are advised to expect delays, seek alternate routes or follow maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

Venetian Causeway Streetscape Improvement Project; Project No. 20100522:  The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, roadway improvements, sidewalks, curb & gutter, raised landscape median, continuous bike lanes, parallel parking, drainage improvements, pavement markings & signing, traffic signalization, decorative roadway lighting, island entry signs and tree planting. No mainline road closing are foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012. 

 

Dade Boulevard from Purdy Avenue to Alton Road; Project No 20100388: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

NW 17 Avenue between NW 28 Street and NW 35 Street; Project No. 20090314: Work under this Contract shall include, but is not limited to, the following: Furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment and tools and performing all operations necessary for the construction of curb ramps. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.

 

NW 82nd Street to NW 84th Street from NW 2nd Avenue to North Miami Avenue; Project No. 20100739: This project will to improve the drainage in the area which has been documented by flooding in this vicinity.  This work includes the construction and installation of drainage structures, exfiltration drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding and miscellaneous roadway restoration including curb and gutter, and sidewalks as needed. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.  No mainline road closing are foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

 

NW 82nd Street from West Flagler to NW 3rd Avenue; Project No. 20110002: This project will to improve the drainage in the area which has been documented by flooding in this vicinity.  This work includes the construction and installation of drainage structures, exfiltration drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding and miscellaneous roadway restoration including curb and gutter, and sidewalks as needed. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 29, 2012.  No mainline road closing are foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

 

NW 97th Avenue from NW 41st Street to NW 45th Lane and NW 97th Avenue and NW 33rd Street; Project No. 20110003:  This project will to improve the drainage in the area which has been documented by flooding in this vicinity.  This work includes the construction and installation of drainage structures, exfiltration drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding and miscellaneous roadway restoration including curb and gutter, and sidewalks as needed. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 29, 2012.  No mainline road closing are foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

 

NW 138th Street Bridge over the Miami River Canal from NW 113 Avenue to Okeechobee Road; Project No. 20090024: The scope of work consists of, but not limited to, furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools.  The project consists of replacing the existing bridge with a new and wider bridge; turn lane improvements and replace existing signal at the intersection of Okeechobee Road and NW 138 Street. Work also includes a striped median with a center left turn lane, sidewalks, a continuous storm drainage system, roadway lighting, signalization, pavement markings and signage. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 30, 2012. Mainline Closure: The bridge will be closed for the duration of the construction.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.

 

NW 199th Street (Honey Hill Drive) between NW 57th Avenue and NW 52nd Avenue; Project No. 20090313: Will improve traffic capacity at Honey Hill Drive (NW 199th Street) Between NW 57th Avenue and NW 52nd Avenue.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by March 2012.  Working Hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.  No mainline road closing foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

 

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Projects:

 

Resurfacing Category:

 

SW 147th Avenue from SW 72nd Street to SW 88th Street; Project No. 20100388: The scope of work includes but is not limited to milling, resurfacing, striping, installation of signs, upgrading pedestrian ramps and connectors to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) standards, upgrading damaged or outdated guardrails, and eliminating potential hazards along the specific corridors. In addition, pedestrian crossings will be upgraded to include pedestrian signal countdowns, push buttons and signs, as needed. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 31, 2012.  Mainline Closure: The milling and resurfacing portion is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs.

 

SW 147th Avenue from SW 47th Street to SW 56th Street; Project No. 20100522: The scope of work includes but is not limited to milling, resurfacing, striping, installation of signs, upgrading pedestrian ramps and connectors to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) standards, upgrading damaged or outdated guardrails, and eliminating potential hazards along the specific corridors.
