Statement from Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management Department on street flooding

(MIAMI, May 24, 2012) – The Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management (PWWM) Department has issued the following statement regarding street flooding in unincorporated Miami-Dade County:

The Miami-Dade County PWWM Department has no current report of any street flooding on roads that are maintained by the County.  However, the possibility of localized street flooding remains as the rains continue.

Crews from the Miami-Dade County PWWM Department have been, and continue to be, out on the streets clearing out storm drains and drain tops, and monitoring the functioning of the County’s storm water pump stations.

Residents are advised to avoid travelling on any flooded streets they may encounter, as the depth of the water may be difficult to determine.  Residents of unincorporated Miami-Dade County can call 3-1-1 to report street flooding; residents of municipalities within Miami-Dade County should contact their municipal officials for street flooding issues.
