Roadway Construction Report Week of June 11, 2012 through June 18, 2012

No special events are programmed for the Rickenbacker or the Venetian Causeways this week.  

 

Railroad Crossing Closures:

 

No Railroad crossing planned for rehabilitation this week. 

Roadway Construction/Closure Activities:

  • SW 24th Street (Coral Way) from SW 117th Avenue to SW 107th Avenue; Project No. 20110036: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 30, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • SW 24th Street (Coral Way) from SW 107th Avenue to SW 97th Avenue; Project No. 20110036: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 31, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • SW 27th Avenue from South Bayshore Drive to Tigertail Avenue and from US-1 to SW 28th Terrace; Project No. 20100517: Work under this project shall include, but is not limited to, the following: Furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment and tools and performing all operations necessary for the construction and installation of drainage structures, curb and gutters, sidewalk and traffic separator; also tree relocations, tree planting and tree removal and disposal. Construction is anticipated to be completed by August 31, 2012.  At this time, no mainline road closing foreseen, motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • SW 47th Terrace from SW 109th Court to SW 108th Avenue; Project No. 20110120:  This project will provide ADA accommodations to the existing bridge with a steel attached pedestrian/bicycle facility and construction of the approaches.  The Work entails all of the bridge elements and pertinent appurtenances such as bridge supports, approach slabs, sidewalks, drainage, retaining walls, Canal slope protection, guardrails, as well as all of the necessary preparation, transportation and erection of these bridges. Construction is anticipated to be completed by April 30, 2013. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • Commodore Trail Bikeway Improvements From SW 42nd Avenue (South LeJuene Road) to Aviation Avenue, Project No. 20090229: Work includes but is not limited to construct a bicycle/pedestrian shared-use bridge over the Coral Gables waterway, resurfacing of the existing trail, widening portions of the trail to meet current design standards, construction of appropriate bicycle facility compliant curb ramps, pavement markings, and improved wayfinding signage, landscape and street lighting. Construction is anticipated to be completed by January 30 2013. No mainline road closing foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.
  • SW 57th Avenue from SW 74th Street to SW 80th Street, Project No.  20110036: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • Old Cutler Road from SW 88th Street (Kendall Drive) to SW 57th Avenue (Red Road); Project No. 20110063:  The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 31, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • SW 184th Street from SW 137th Avenue to SW 147th Avenue; Project No. 20100394:  This roadway improvement project includes the constructing of a five lane roadway including center turn lane, sidewalk, curb and gutter, continuous storm drainage system, roadway lighting, signage, traffic signalization, 24-inch and 16-inch water mains, and 24-inch force main.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by September 30, 2012.  Mainline Closure:  Motorists are advised to expect delays, seek alternate routes or follow maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • SW 216th Street from the Florida's Turnpike to SW 112th Avenue; Project No. 20110036: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • SW 312th Street from SW 157th Avenue to SW 167th Avenue and US-1; Project No. 20110089: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • Old Dixie Highway from SW 146th Court to SW 304th Street; Project No. 20110168: The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: adjustment of valve boxes and manholes; milling and resurfacing; and pavement markings. Construction is anticipated to be completed by September 30, 2012.  Mainline Closure: This is a moving operation and temporary lane closures will impact traffic at times.  Detour: Motorists are advised to seek alternate route or follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • Removal of Fishing Catwalks at Rickenbacker Causeway Bear Cut Bridge; Project No. 20110137:  Work includes but is not limited to the complete demolition, removal and appropriate disposal of the existing Catwalk adjacent to the Bear Cut Bridge on the Rickenbacker Causeway. The work includes the removal of all of the Catwalk elements and attached appurtenances such as pipes, fencing, etc. as well as the preparation, transportation and disposal of demolition materials off site.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by December 31, 2012. Mainline Closure:  Motorists are advised to expect delays, seek alternate routes or follow maintenance of traffic (MOT) signs or detour route.
  • Venetian Causeway Streetscape Improvement Project; Project No. 20100522:  The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, roadway improvements, sidewalks, curb & gutter, raised landscape median, continuous bike lanes, parallel parking, drainage improvements, pavement markings & signing, traffic signalization, decorative roadway lighting, island entry signs and tree planting. No mainline road closing are foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 31, 2012. 
  • NW 87th Avenue and NW 25th Street; Project No. 20110131: Will improve traffic safety at NW 87th Avenue and NW 25th Street.  Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 30, 2012.  Working Hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.  No mainline road closing foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

  • NW 105th Terrace from NW 12th Avenue to NW 11th Avenue; Project No. 20110173: Work includes but is not limited to the construction and installation of drainage structures, French drains, miscellaneous drainage improvements, grading, sodding, and miscellaneous roadway restoration including construction of concrete curb and gutters, and sidewalks where needed in accordance with the construction plans and specifications provided. Construction is anticipated to be completed by September 30, 2012.
