(MIAMI, December 17, 2012) – Customers of the Miami-Dade County Department of Public Works and Waste Management should note that Christmas Day, December 25, falls on a Tuesday this year. Garbage and recycling collection services and disposal operations will observe the following holiday schedule:
Curbside Garbage and Trash Collection Service
There will be NO collection of garbage or trash on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Miami-Dade waste collection customers who are serviced on Tuesdays are asked NOT to place their green waste carts at the curb that day. Garbage collection for these customers will take place on their next regularly scheduled collection day, Friday, December 28, 2012. Customers are reminded to place their green waste carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on December 28. Please note garbage collection on Friday, December 28, 2012 may take place later than customers are used to, due to the high volume of waste. Residents can be assured that all garbage will be picked up December 28th and are kindly asked to remain patient as crews work throughout the day.
Curbside Recycling Service
There will be NO curbside collection of recycling materials on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Miami-Dade curbside recycling service customers whose recycling collection day falls on that day will instead have their recycling collected on Saturday, December 29, 2012. Customers affected by this one-time only change in service are reminded to place their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
Disposal Facilities
The Department’s disposal facilities, including the Transfer Stations, Landfills, Resources Recovery Facility, and Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers, will all be CLOSED on Tuesday, December 25, 2012.
Administrative Offices
