Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management Department holiday waste service schedule for the Independence Day holiday, Thursday, July 4, 2013

(MIAMI, June 24, 2013) – Waste collection and disposal customers of the Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management Department (PWWM) should note the following schedule for garbage and recycling collection services, disposal operations and the Department's Administrative Offices for the upcoming Independence Day holiday, Thursday, July 4, 2013: 

Curbside Garbage and Trash Collection Service

There will be NO collection of garbage or trash on Thursday, July 4, 2013. 

Curbside Recycling Collection Service

Recycling WILL be collected as normal on Thursday, July 4, 2013.  PWWM curbside recycling customers whose scheduled recycling day falls on July 4 should place their recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2013.

Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers

The Department's 13 Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers will be CLOSED.

Home Chemical Collection Centers

The Department’s Home Chemical Collection Centers will be CLOSED.

Resources Recovery Facility, Landfills and Transfer Stations

The Department's Resources Recovery Facility and South Dade Landfill will be OPEN during normal operating hours.  The North Dade Landfill and all Transfer Stations will be CLOSED.

Administrative Offices

The Department's administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2013.
