Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management Department's Christmas holiday schedule

(MIAMI, December 17, 2013) – Customers of the Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management Department (PWWM) should note that Christmas Day, December 25, 2013 falls on a Wednesday this year.  Garbage and recycling collection services and disposal operations will observe the following holiday schedule:

Curbside Garbage and Trash Collection Service
The PWWM does not provide this service on Wednesdays, so customers will not be affected. 

Curbside Recycling Service
There will be NO curbside collection of recycling materials on Wednesday, December 25, 2013.  Miami-Dade curbside recycling service customers whose recycling collection day falls on that day will instead have their recycling collected on Saturday, December 28, 2013.  Customers affected by this one-time only change in service are reminded to place their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013. 

Disposal Facilities; Home Chemical Collection Centers
The Department’s disposal facilities, including the Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers, Landfills, Resources Recovery Facility, Transfer Stations and Home Chemical Collection Centers, will all be CLOSED on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. 

Administrative Offices
The Department’s administrative offices will be CLOSED on Wednesday, December 25, 2013.
