Department of Transportation and Public Works to host SMART Plan East-West Corridor public meetings
The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is hosting two public meetings this week to present the latest information regarding the East-West Corridor Rapid Transit Project. The East-West Corridor is identified in the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan as a priority corridor for implementation of rapid transit service. The East-West Corridor will run along SR 836/Dolphin Expressway from the Miami Intermodal Center at the Miami International Airport (MIA) to SW 8 St. at SW 109 Ave. next to Florida International University (FIU).
The public meetings will be held tomorrow, April 10 and Thursday, April 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations:
Tuesday, April 10 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5909 NW 7 St. Miami, FL 33126.
Thursday, April 12 at FIU Modesto A. Maidique Campus, Wertheim Conservatory (WC) 130, 11200 SW 8 St. Miami, FL 33199.
These meetings will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about the project, become familiar with the study process, and provide feedback. DTPW representatives will be available at both meetings to informally discuss the project and answer questions. Visit www.miamiSMARTplan.com to learn more about the SMART Plan.
