Miami-Dade Transit collaborates with local artist David Anasagasti for a live bus painting and specially designed EASY Ticket

MIAMI ( November 18, 2019 )

Miami-Dade’s Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) has collaborated with local artist David Anasagasti to share his original artwork on a specially painted Metrobus and specially designed EASY Ticket.

Anasagasti will be painting a Metrobus live on site at Miami-Dade Transit’s Omni Bus Terminal Wednesday, November 20. In keeping with the tradition of merging art with public transit, this live painting comes just in time for Miami Art Week.

Media are encouraged to attend and do their afternoon broadcasts live from the bus terminal. The DTPW director and Anasagasti will be available for interviews between noon and 2 p.m.

After the bus painting is complete, the bus will be relocated to Frame Art Gallery (96 SW 7th St., Miami), where it will be available for viewing by the media and the public starting at 5:30 p.m. Here, Anasagasti will be hosting an event to celebrate and showcase the freshly painted bus. Guests are invited to take pictures and meet the artist. In addition, attendees can preview Anasagasti’s artwork within the gallery as a special sneak peek ahead of Miami Art Week. This evening event will be free and open to the public. No parking is available on site. Transit or ride-share is strongly suggested.
