Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust welcomes new board of trustees members
Members are appointed to fill vacancies
Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) is pleased to welcome 11 newly-appointed MDEAT board of trustees members as they come on board to help further MDEAT’s mission of promoting economic development, homeownership, and youth development throughout Miami-Dade County’s Targeted Urban Areas.
Appointees are filling existing vacancies and those created by departing board members whose terms expired. Board members represent such disciplines as small businesses, real estate, banking, advocacy organizations, education, psychology, and other fields related to the enhancement of our agency and the communities we serve.
The new board chairperson, first, and second vice-chairpersons are Cornell Crews, Jr.; Sheldon Edwards; and LaTonda James, respectively. New members are Larry Capp; Kareem J. Coney; Craig Emmanuel; Steve Gallon, III; Althea Harris; Michelle LaPiana; Charlotte Pittman; Ruban Roberts; Elbert Waters; Brian Williams; and Katrina Wright.
Appointments were made by Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners on June 30, 2015, and became effective July 10, 2015.
