Hundreds of Miami-Dade's "Super Seniors" warm-up for Saturday's "Fitness Dance Party" at Tropical Park and hundreds more of all ages expected to join them for the big event
Yesterday was a day to get moving and exercise in a party-style atmosphere for the more than 200 Miami-Dade residents, ages 55+ that came out to Arcola Lakes Park Senior Center for the free “Super Senior” Active Adults Fitness Dance Party. The event is a warm-up prelude to the ultimate fitness event “Fitness Dance Party Miami” at Tropical Park, this Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the park’s Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center, located at 7900 SW 40th St., Miami. It is a premiere celebration for Miami-Dade’s Park and Recreation Month being presented by the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department and the Parks Foundation of Miami and sponsored by Baptist Health South Florida. Admission and parking are free.
All ages and skill levels are invited to join the fun at the world-class Equestrian Center. Hundreds are expected to attend, including residents and Zumba fitness clubs from all over the county. There will be non-stop energetic dance rhythms set by music-spinning DJs and easy-to-follow dance exercises led by professional Zumba instructors. The site features more than 150,000 square feet of floor space with overhead fans that provide cooling breezes, while event goers get their heart-healthy moves on.
These activities are a great example of Miami-Dade Parks’ ongoing endeavors to promote the many ways to stay physically fit for the improved health and well-being of the entire community.
