$42,000 awarded in scholarships from Community Action and Human Services Department
Last week, Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) and the Community Action Agency Board awarded 20 scholarships to college-bound students. Through the CAHSD Community Advisory Committees, $42,000 was raised to support youth from underserved communities across the county, helping them achieve their educational goals.
“We recognize the importance of a college education and the impact it has on the lives of our youth, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college,” CAHSD Director Lucia Davis-Raiford said. “We are thrilled to support these exemplary students as they pursue their dreams of going to college.”
The CAHSD Community Advisory Committees raise money every year to fund scholarships for underprivileged youth in the communities they represent. To learn more, visit CAHSD on the web. For photos of the Scholarship Award Recognition Ceremony, check out CAHSD on Facebook.
