The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department receives Peak Performance Award
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) has received a Gold Peak Performance Award in recognition of the North District Wastewater Treatment Plant’s excellence in permit compliance. The Peak Performance Awards program presented by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) recognizes public wastewater treatment facilities for their outstanding compliance records from the previous calendar year. NACWA was proud to recognize facilities during the Association’s 2015 Utility Leadership Conference and 45th Anniversary Annual Meeting, held earlier this year.
"We are extremely proud to receive this award," said WASD Director Lester Sola, "It represents the department's commitment to serve the needs of county residents, businesses and visitors by providing high-quality drinking water and wastewater disposal services for 2.3 million customers each day."
NACWA represents the interests of more than 300 public agencies and organizations that have made the pursuit of scientifically based, technically sound and cost effective laws and regulations their objective. NACWA members serve the majority of the sewered population in the United States and collectively treat and reclaim more than 18 billion gallons of wastewater daily.
