Free author's presentation & book signing at Deering Estate's theatre lab
The Deering Estate is pleased to present author and longtime Cutler Bay resident, Ernie Sochin, for an author’s presentation and book signing of “When I Was Your Age”. The book describes the author's first-hand experiences of the generation gap and shares his lessons as a visiting lecture at local elementary and middle schools. Simply put, he loves reminiscing about the old days, and has written a book comparing those days to the present. The event will be held at the Deering Estate’s Visitor Center Theatre on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm and is free and open to the public.
The event is of part of annual Theatre Lab Programming at the Deering Estate, located at 16701 SW 72 Ave. Miami, FL 33157. The Visitor Center Theatre and parking lot are located at the end of SW 168, east of Old Cutler Road in Palmetto Bay.
About The Author:
Ernie Sochin, a Florida resident for 48 years is originally from Boston, Massachusetts. Creating roots in the South Florida community with his wife Rhoda, of fifty-three years, he has served as a public figure in many capacities interacting with audiences through radio, print and local government. With an extensive career as a radio talk-show host he was followed by listeners on WINZ, WIOD, WSBH, WFTL, worked as an instructor at Dale Carnegie, and has been serving the Town Of Cutler Bay since its inception. He is most recently known as its Vice Mayor. Ernie writes a column for Community Newspapers, loves reminiscing about the old days, and has written a book comparing those days to the present. This is Mr. Sochin’s first book publication, which has received great reception, including a September 25th event at Books and Books in Coral Gables, Florida. He is delighted to present his work in “his neck of the woods”, and welcomes the Cutler Bay, Palmetto Bay, Perrine and Coral Gables audiences to this event.
