Metromover closing early for maintenance work

Free bus-shuttle service will be provided between Metromover stations

MIAMI (September 25, 2015)

In order to perform maintenance work, Metromover’s Brickell and Omni loops will close early on Saturday, Sept. 26 and open late on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Saturday night, the Brickell and Omni loops will close at 11 p.m. and will reopen on Sunday at 9 a.m. The Inner Loop will provide regularly scheduled service.

Free bus-shuttle service will be provided between all Metromover stations on the Brickell and Omni loops, from 10:30 p.m. until midnight on Saturday and from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. on Sunday. Buses are scheduled to arrive at approximately every 10 to 15 minutes.

A map of where shuttle buses will pick up and drop off patrons is available at MDT’s Metromover web page at: http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/metromover.asp.

Miami-Dade Transit apologizes for the inconvenience; however, in order to continue its accelerated effort to improve reliability on the Metromover system, Miami-Dade Transit sometimes conducts maintenance work that involves the temporary closing of the Metromover system and replaces trains with free shuttle buses. This allows MDT to complete its work faster and safer, while minimizing impact to users during peak-service hours.

For general transit information, the public can download the free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app, or visit: www.miamidade.gov/transit/mobile/.
