Metromover opening late for maintenance work

MIAMI (October 02, 2015)

In order to do scheduled maintenance work, Metromover’s Inner Loop will open late on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015.

On Saturday morning, the Inner Loop will open at 10 a.m. The Brickell and Omni loops will open at their regularly scheduled time of 5 a.m.

Free bus-shuttle service will be provided between the Government Center and Miami Avenue Metromover stations. A map of where shuttle buses will pick up and drop off patrons is available at MDT’s Metromover web page at: http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/metromover.asp.

Miami-Dade Transit apologizes for the inconvenience; however, in order to continue its accelerated effort to improve reliability on the Metromover system, Miami-Dade Transit sometimes conducts maintenance work that involves the temporary closing of the Metromover system and replaces trains with free shuttle buses. This allows MDT to complete its work safer and faster, while minimizing impact to users during peak-service hours.

For general transit information, the public can download the free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app, or visit: www.miamidade.gov/transit/mobile/. Transit riders also can register to receive Rider Alerts by registering at: http://miamidade.gov/wps/portal/Main/transitrideralerts. Likewise, transit information is available via Facebook (MiamiDadeTransit) and Twitter (@IRideMDT).

In addition, Miami-Dade Transit’s home page www.miamidade.gov/transit provides complete schedule information, station maps and more. Transit users also can call 305-891-3131, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
