Take transit and 'Wake Up Miami!' to the sound of music

Enjoy free live music at the Government Center Metromover station

MIAMI (October 02, 2015)

Beginning this Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, there is a new way of starting off the week with the sweet sounds of Wake up Miami! – a series of ten events featuring local musicians and students from Florida International University’s School of Music, who will be performing at the Government Center Metromover station, located at 101 NW First St., Miami, FL 33128.

These unique performances will showcase local talent in diverse genres, including classical, jazz, folk, and world music. The performances are sponsored by PAXy, a non-profit organization that aims to promote the use of public transportation by making the experience exciting and memorable with musical events at one of Miami-Dade Transit's (MDT) busiest stations.

The performances will take place every Monday, from Oct. 5 to Dec. 7, 2015, starting at 8:30 a.m. Each performance will run between 45 and 90 minutes. For more information about Wake Up Miami!, and a performance schedule, please visit Wake Up Miami! webpage.

For general transit information, the public can download the free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app, or visit MDT's mobile services. Transit riders also can register to receive Rider Alerts by registering via the Miami-Dade County Rider Alerts. Likewise, transit information is available via Facebook and Twitter.
