"Coconuts Music Festival" coming to Haulover Beach Park, Nov. 8

MIAMI (October 14, 2015)

The widely popular “Coconuts Music Festival” returns to Haulover Beach Park on Sunday, November 8, 2015. This exciting one-of-a-kind celebration of all things “coconut” is packed with family-oriented, beachside fun-in-the-sun and a day-long live concert, presented by the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.

Performing bands will include Mr. Nice Guy, Mojo Scoundrels and The Rockaholix. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, including: craft displays to browse, fresh husked coconut beverages for purchase, and gourmet food truck vendors selling assorted tropical and Caribbean food items. Guests can also take part in the fun and wacky coconut-themed games, such as “Coconut Shot-Put” and “Coconut Casting”.

Activities will be held from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the great lawn, between Lot 1 and 2. Admission is free. Parking is $7-car and $15-bus or RV.

Glass bottles and pets will not be permitted on site. Attendees may bring their own lawn chairs, umbrellas and blankets, to better enjoy the festivities.

Proceeds from the 2015 Coconuts Music Festival will benefit the VFW’s local efforts for Veterans; and the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade’s efforts to improve and expand the tree canopy at Haulover Park, which includes planting new coconut palm trees.

Sponsors for the 2015 Coconuts Music Festival include: Magic-102.7FM; The Shark-104.3FM; The Ticket-790AM (Sports Talk Radio); Talent Ventures; Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade; and Miami-Dade County District 4 Commissioner Sally A. Heyman.
