Celebrate National Weatherization Day with Community Action and Human Services
Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) is raising awareness of energy conservation by celebrating “National Weatherization Day.” This year, CAHSD will help make the home of Ms. Gynease Daniels more energy efficient through the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).
WAP provides permanent solutions to reduce the energy burden on low-income families. As the nation's core program for delivering energy conservation services to low-income households, WAP assists homeowners by providing them with services, such as installing cost-effective and energy-saving materials, to will help them live more sustainably in their homes.
CAHSD will be partnering with a local Miami-Dade County contractor to complete the weatherization project.
Participation in WAP is based on income eligibility, with priority given to the elderly, disabled, and households with children under 12 years old. WAP is funded by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
