Miami-Dade Animal Services will offer pet care vaccinations at no cost to military veterans in honor of Veterans Day
In honor of Veterans Day, Miami-Dade Animal Services will celebrate our heroes throughout next week by offering military veterans residing in Miami-Dade County pet care vaccination packages at no cost for their companion cats and dogs from Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13, 2015.Please note Animal Services will be closed for business on Wednesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
Also during the Veterans Day special week, military veterans that adopt a pet as part of the Pets are Priceless waived adoption fee promotion will also have the $27 license tag fee waived. To be eligible to receive the package at no cost, veterans must present government issued military identification. “We wanted to be able to give back in some way to our veterans who are pet owners,” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Miami-Dade Animal Services. “Our veterans are our heroes and we are sure their pets consider them their heroes as well.”
Animal Services low-cost vaccine packages for dogs include vaccines against rabies, Bordetella and DHPP—a four in one vaccine offering protection against canine distemper, hepatitis, parvo virus and parainfluenzaas—as well as a microchip and spay/neuter surgery if needed. The vaccine packages for cats include vaccines against rabies and FRCPC—a four in one vaccine that protects against feline rhinotracheitis, calici, panleukopenia and chlamydia—as well as spay/neuter surgery if needed.
