Miami-Dade Transit launches pilot bus route to help improve mobility during Art Basel

MIAMI (November 25, 2015)

On Monday, November 30, 2015, Miami-Dade Transit, in collaboration with the cities of Miami and Miami Beach, will present a pilot bus route that aims to help alleviate traffic congestion during Art Basel.

The Miami-Dade Art Express pilot bus route will provide commuters and Art Basel goers a convenient and easy alternative to driving a car, especially during a time when the Venetian Causeway is temporarily closed due to construction.

This complimentary express bus service will travel along the Julia Tuttle Causeway and will provide service from Tuesday, Dec. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with service approximately every 20 minutes.

The Miami-Dade Art Express bus stops will be located at:

  • Miami Beach Convention Center- 17 St. and Convention Center Dr.
  • Design District - NE 1st Ave. and 38 St.
  • Wynwood - NW 2nd Ave. and 29 St.
  • Midtown - NE 29 St. and 1st Ave.

Complimentary Wi-Fi on buses, and complimentary mobile device charging stations at bus stops within the City of Miami, will allow passengers to stay connected while enjoying the events. The 40-foot buses are also equipped with bicycle racks and are specifically branded for this route.
