WASD construction project to close intersection of Southwest 152nd Street and Southwest 137th Avenue
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) will be performing a pre-construction evaluation and measurement of a 48-inch water main at the intersection of Southwest 152nd Street and Southwest 137th Avenue beginning 9 p.m. on Friday, January 8th until 5 a.m. Monday, January 11th.
As a result, northbound and southbound traffic on Southwest 137th Avenue will be closed to traffic and detoured. Commuters may want to avoid the area.
This project is part of the preliminary work needed prior to WASD installing a new 36-inch water main on Southwest 152nd Street between Southwest 137th Avenue and Southwest 112th Avenue that will need to connect to the existing water main at Southwest 137th Avenue.
As part of WASD’s 20-year, $13.5 billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP) the installation of this new water main will enhance service delivery and fire suppression capabilities to residents within the South Dade community.
It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
