Miami-Dade County UF/IFAS Extension offers "Pesticide Training Classes" year-round
According to Florida Law, a Pesticide Applicator License is necessary for anyone who purchases, transports, mixes, handles, or applies Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP) related to agriculture, or applies pesticides related to public structures or business sectors. If you need a pesticide license, but don’t know where to start, the Miami-Dade Extension Office offers “Pesticide Training Classes” on select dates throughout the year.
The classes provide a thorough review of the information needed to pass the test and obtain the proper license. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available for licensed applicators.
All classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and are held in the Miami-Dade County Extension Auditorium, 18710 SW 288th St., Homestead, FL 33030. The cost per class is $25 (Early Bird Registration) or $30 (Late Registration). A light breakfast and lunch is provided. Following the training, participants will be able to take the corresponding exam.
