Neat Streets Miami kicks off maintenance and beautification contest
Communities: Show off your gateways and corridors
Now is your chance to recognize an outstanding Miami-Dade County cleaning and greening achievement. Neat Streets Miami is now accepting award nominations for the "Beautification and Maintenance Excellence Awards”. The awards will recognize the creation of gateways, a commitment to aesthetics and superior corridor maintenance. The deadline for award nominations is April 1. Winners will be announced at the Miami-Dade Great Park Summit on April 15.
“I hope to see all communities submit entries into this contest, as I know we have a lot of beautiful projects and dedicated people who can be recognized,” Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez said.
“By recognizing those who are deeply committed to clean and green their public rights-of-way, we are encouraging others to join our efforts and celebrate their community through aesthetic investments,” said Neat Streets Miami Chair and Miami Dade Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, District 9.
Nominations for the 2016 Beautification and Maintenance Excellence Awards will be accepted in these three categories:
- Million Trees Miami Crown Award: An individual who has dedicated their career to increasing the tree canopy in Miami-Dade County.
- Inviting Gateway Award: A community or organization that has created a signature gateway which reflects Miami-Dade's world-class image.
- Corridor Maintenance Showcase Award: A community corridor that represents the highest standards for aesthetics and vegetation maintenance.
Nomination forms are easy to fill out and available online at the Neat Streets Miami home page.
