Discover More of the Deering Estate this summer and enjoy a guided Historic House Tour
This year the Deering Estate celebrates 100 years since Charles Deering purchased and restored the Richmond Inn and turned it into his winter residence. We invite guests to Discover More history, art, culture, science, preservation, conservation and ecology at the Deering Estate! Visitors of all ages can experience a Historic House Tour and learn about the Town of Cutler, Perrine Land Grant, Richmond Family, Balloon Frame & Mediterranean Revival Architecture, and the Deering Family.
Nine professionally cleaned carpets with elaborate designs have recently been added to the historic homes at the Deering Estate. These are now adorning several rooms in the Stone House and Richmond Cottage and are on display daily. These unique antique pieces were transferred from Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and range in influence and design - from Persia, to China, to Austria - and resemble the original Charles Deering Collection. A special thanks to the 100 Ladies of Deering for their generous support of this project. Several more carpets will be installed in the upcoming months.
Guided Historic House Tours at the Deering Estate are offered daily through September 30th at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm & 3:00 pm and are included with Estate admission: $12 for adults, $7 for children (ages 4-14), and free for Deering Estate Foundation Members. Please note that the guided Natural Area Tour will not be offered during this time and will resume on October 1, 2016.
