Transit services impacted during special event

MIAMI (June 11, 2016)

Transit services will be temporarily impacted during a special event on Sunday, June 12, 2016.

Several Metrorail and Metromover stations will need to stop service momentarily during the afternoon and evening hours on June 12th. Metrobus service may also be impacted.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works is asking passengers to be patient and plan accordingly because Metrorail and Metromover will cease operations intermittently, with service ceasing for as long as 25 to 30 minutes.

Metrorail riders who plan to use the Orange Line to go to Miami International Airport are encouraged to give themselves ample time to arrive to their destination on time.

To be notified of transit service disruptions, transit riders can register to receive Rider Alerts. In the event of a service disruption or delay, transit users will receive a message with details on the device of their choice. Transit users can also follow the Department of Transportation and Public Works on its Transit Twitter account for service updates.

Complete schedules, station maps and other transit information can be found at the Department’s Transit home page. This website also can be used to plan a transit trip using the Google Trip Planner. Transit information is also available via the free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app, or the Department’s mobile site.

In addition, transit riders can call 305-891-3131, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for transit information.
