Get details on WASD projects anywhere and at any time.

MIAMI (August 09, 2016)

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is committed to not just serving Miami-Dade residents with high-quality drinking water and wastewater services, but also to providing excellent customer service.

With the use of new technology, the department is making sure to keep Miami-Dade residents and businesses informed of its current and future construction projects on its website, through an application called iWASD Projects GIS Viewer.  It is located on the top banner of the WASD website and is compatible with mobile devices.

“Due to our Capital Improvement Program, we have a lot of ongoing projects happening at the same time. It is important for residents or businesses to be able to find information on WASD projects in their neighborhoods and stay up to date.  This will help minimize any negative impacts in the community,” said WASD Director Lester Sola.

By simply entering an address inside the search field, the results will show details on the projects such as a start and end date, the current phase, and how it was designed and constructed.

Additional layers inside the application include the commission districts, municipal boundary and aerial photography. Users are able to choose what projects to display, measure distances, make notations and generate various types maps.

The iWASD Projects GIS Viewer won a Public Technologies Institute (PTI) solutions award last year for its Geospatial Information System (GIS).

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit the WASD website.
