Testing of voting equipment for the August 30, 2016 Primary Election is complete
The Miami-Dade County Elections Department concluded the comprehensive testing of its voting equipment today in preparation for the August 30, 2016 Primary Election.
The “Logic and Accuracy Test” is the final test prior to equipment deployment for the election. Each step of the voting and tabulation process was tested: ballots were cast according to a predetermined outcome, and then tabulated and reconciled to ensure the votes were recorded accurately.
Christina White, Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections, added: “Now that this rigorous test is complete, and the results are as expected, Miami-Dade voters can feel confident that our equipment is functioning properly and votes are recorded accurately. With this, I encourage all voters to participate in this election.”
The Department will begin deploying voting equipment ahead of Early Voting, which commences on Monday, August 15th across 20 convenient locations throughout Miami-Dade County. For more information, call 311 or visit www.iamelectionready.org.
