Metromover opening at noon this weekend due to upgrades

MIAMI (September 22, 2016)

Due to system upgrades, the Metromover system will open late on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016. The Metromover system is expected to be operational shortly after the noon hour.

Free bus-shuttle service will be provided between Metromover stations from 5 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

Shuttle buses will arrive at Metromover stations approximately every 10 to 15 minutes. A map of where shuttle buses pick up and drop off passengers is available on the Metromover web page.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works apologizes for the inconvenience this may create.  Patrons are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Transit riders can register to receive Rider Alerts.  In the event of a service disruption or delay, transit users will receive a message with details on the device of their choice.

To plan a trip on transit, residents and visitors are encouraged to download the newly upgraded free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app, which offers complete trip-planning information, as well as real-time information for approaching buses, Metrorail and Metromover vehicles.

The public also can visit the Department’s website, or speak with a Transit agent by calling 305-891-3131, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
