Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department hosts networking expo
Local small business owners have the opportunity to learn about upcoming Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) that their company may bid for, as well as network with other companies and agencies that they can make connections with and/or partner with now and in the future when they attend WASD’s Supplier Expo Wednesday, Sept. 28th.
The theme of Making the Right Business Connections illustrates WASD’s commitment to cultivating and encouraging local, small businesses to bid for department projects especially as a part of the $13.5 billion CIP.
“The CIP will create 16,470 new jobs during the first 10 years of the program and generate $24.9 billion in the first 10 years alone,” said WASD Director Lester Sola. “When we partner with local small businesses that means the economic impact of these projects continue to benefit Miami-Dade County because those monies are then once again reinvested in the local economy.”
Representatives from area banks also will be in attendance sharing information about the ability to tap into resources to establish working capital.
The expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28th in Conference room 156 in the WASD Douglas Road location, 3071 SW 38 Ave., Miami, Fl 33146. For more information or to register for the event contact Margaret Moss at 786-268-5346 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services visit WASD’s website.
