New soccer amenities at Amelia Earhart Park

MIAMI (September 29, 2016)

Soccer5 USA continues to grow its soccer field operations in South Florida with the addition of two artificial turf mini-soccer fields, a shade canopy and a family picnic grill area at the Amelia Earhart Park Soccer Complex, located at 401 E. 65 St., in Hialeah. The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department and Miami-Dade County District 13 Commissioner Esteban L. Bovo, Jr. will join Soccer5 representatives at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016, to officially open and dedicate the new Soccer5 amenities. The dedication ceremonies will be followed by a youth soccer tournament.

The project was funded by Soccer5, the facility’s operator. Last year, Miami-Dade Parks opened the new Soccer Complex at the park. In addition, Soccer 5 added two new lighted Soccer5 soccer fields to accommodate 6-v-6 through 8-v-8 matches.

“I am happy to see these new soccer amenities at the Amelia Earhart Park Soccer Complex. Thanks to the Parks Department’s long-time partnership with Soccer5, soccer enthusiasts have more great play spaces to play the sport that they love,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos. A. Gimenez.

“The Amelia Earhart Park Soccer Complex is a premiere facility that just keeps getting better,” said Commissioner Bovo. “I applaud Soccer5 for their great investments in this park and in encouraging our community’s youth and adults to be active throughout their lives with soccer.”

“Miami-Dade Parks is proud of Miami-Dade Parksthe generous support of Soccer5 that is keeping this Soccer Complex at gold-standard level, as a location for everything from recreational pick-up games to competitive soccer club activities and tournaments. These new soccer amenities are sure to be enjoyed by players and fans for many years to come,” said Miami-Dade County Parks Director Jack Kardys.

Miami Soccer5 also operates Miami-Dade Parks’ soccer facilities at Kendall Soccer Park and Tropical Park. For information about Miami Soccer5 leagues and clubs, visit, or call 305-873-8765, email [email protected].
