Florida voter registration deadline extended
The Voter Registration deadline to participate in the November 8, 2016 General Election was extended in Florida through Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Christina White stated: “Miami-Dade will dedicate the appropriate resources to ensure all applications received by the new deadline are processed timely. However, voters and third-party organizations are encouraged not to wait until next week to submit completed applications. In addition, she also noted that, “Voters are encouraged to confirm their voter registration status online prior to voting.”
In the coming days, our community may help out in the following ways:
- Third Party Voter Registration Organizations are asked not to wait until the end of the registration period to submit their completed applications; forms should be submitted daily.
- Voters, don’t delay! Register today by submitting a completed voter registration application.
The Elections Main Office in Doral (2700 NW 87th Avenue, Miami, FL 33172) and the Satellite Office in Downtown Miami (Stephen P. Clark Center Lobby, 111 NW 1 Street, Miami, FL 33128) are open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The sooner voter registration applications are received, the better prepared they will be to take advantage of Vote by Mail and Early Voting opportunities.
Voters are encouraged to check their current voter registration status before heading to the polls. They may also view their customized sample ballot and confirm their current Election Day voting location using the Voter Look-up tool.
