Three new exercise classes for Miami-Dade's active older adults

MIAMI (October 24, 2016)

The Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces department is joining health partner Fitness and Wellness Works to offer three new exercise classes, free of charge, for residents ages 55 plus, as part of Miami-Dade Parks Active Older Adults program. Starting November 7, 2016, Yoga, Tai Chi and Zumba Gold classes will be available at nine Miami-Dade Parks Active Older Adults Recreation Centers, located countywide (listing below).

Participants are required to pre-register for classes at one of the participating park Centers. Class days and times are subject to change. Please contact the Centers directly for updates.

Miami-Dade Parks is long committed to helping older adults in Miami-Dade stay heart-healthy and engaged in their community. Through its Active Older Adults program, residents age 55 and over are learning about healthy eating, exercising and enjoying nature in beautiful park spaces, improving their physical strength and expanding their social circles. Started in 2013, the program offers numerous fee-free recreational opportunities at park locations county-wide.
