Emergency water main repair on Red Road may impact water pressure in Northwest Miami-Dade County
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) needs to make emergency repairs to portions of the 54-inch water main on Red Road (West Fourth Avenue in Hialeah) in Hialeah. The department will shut down the main on Sunday night at 8 p.m. to accommodate making the repairs.
As a result, residents in the Northwest portion of Miami-Dade County, including the municipalities of Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Miami Gardens and Opa-locka, may experience lower than normal water pressure for the duration of the repair. The repairs will be made in stages.
Contractors have 50 days to complete the repairs. The first repairs will result in intermittent lane closures/detours on Red Road at West 56 Street, West 53 Street, West 48 Street and West 41 Street. WASD will release an update advisory when the second stage of construction begins.
It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit WASD’s website.
