Miami-Dade County's UF/IFAS Extension office announces Florida Water Star certification opportunities
In 2011, Florida Water Star SM, a water conservation certification program for new and existing homes and commercial developments, partnered with the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA) to launch professional accreditation program for both landscape and irrigation professionals.
Today, the program continues to provide advanced education opportunities for practitioners in the landscape and irrigation fields that will result in the sustainable design and implementation of projects achieving Florida Water StarSM certification.
Join the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program staff of the UF⁄IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County office for the next Florida Water StarSM training/testing sessions: Training class, January 10, 2017, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Certification exam, January 11, 2017, 8:30 a.m. – noon at the UF⁄IFAS Extension Miami-Dade County office, 18710 SW 288th St., Homestead, FL 33030. Lunch will be provided by Hunter Industries.
Pre-registration is required and training/exam fees are payable in advance to FNGLA. The training fee is $25 and the exam fee is $50 (one exam). Register and pay here or contact Merry Mott at firstname.lastname@example.org or 800-375-3642.
