Kendall Indian Hammocks Parks to host 14th annual Family Festival of Arts and Games for children and young adults with disabilities and their families
Saddle up for the 14th annual Family Festival of Arts and Games - ‘Happy Trails’ on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Kendall Indian Hammocks Park, located at 11395 SW 79th St., Miami (near shelter 1 & 2). The event is presented by the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces department’s Disability Services in partnership with Villa Lyan Academy and Adult Program and The Roxy Theater Group.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., participants with disabilities enrolled in Miami-Dade Parks Disability Services Out-of-School programs and its event partners’ programs will join their families for fun, interactive activities that involve adaptive art, music, dance, sports, fitness, and more!
Activities will include:
•Adaptive sports⁄fitness presented by Miami-Dade Parks Disability Services
•Theatre performances⁄dance lesson led by The ROXY Theatre Group
•Miami Marlins ‘Play Ball’ interactive games
•Pinch-a-Pot⁄potter wheel demonstrations by the Ceramic League of Miami
•Visit from “McGruff” – The Crime Dog (Miami-Dade Crime Prevention mascot)
•Miami-Dade Police information⁄helicopter on display
•Free samples of healthy spices/coconut water provided by BADIA Spices, Inc.
•Snacks provided by C&L Party Express⁄CiCi’s Pizza
•Goodie bags provided by PROVIDENCE Health Care Services
•Also, fun rides, games, a bounce house, a carousel, a bungee jump, and a bull ride!
