Mobile alerts app bettering Miami-Dade boater experience

MIAMI (February 16, 2017)

Boating is at the top of the list of year-round recreational activities enjoyed by Miami-Dade residents and visitors. The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, with its six full-service marinas and exciting resort-like amenities, such as wet slips, dry storage, boat ramps, transient dockage, fuel, bait & tackle, boat rentals, diving and landing facilities, and much more, aims to provide patrons with the best possible boating experience.

If you boat and you want to keep your trip safe, fun and hassle-free, marina staff suggests that you plan ahead with key information available to you via “Miami-Dade Marina SMS Alerts.” The application provides boaters with instant alerts to hazardous weather conditions, as well as boat ramp closures and re-openings, via text alerts to their email or mobile phone.

To sign up for the Alerts and view a complete list of Miami-Dade Marinas, visit the Miami-Dade Parks web page.
