Bike305 Bike The Underline & UnderLounge, March 11

MIAMI (February 28, 2017)

March is “Bike305 Month” in Miami-Dade County. In celebration, the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department in partnership with Friends of The Underline, Miami-Dade County Transportation and Public Works and the City of Miami, invites residents of all ages to join them for this most significant Bike305 signature event – your chance to bike ride with Bike305 in what will one day be the longest Miami-Dade park! Bike305 sponsors for this event include AVMED, Mack Cycle & Fitness and Baptist Health.

On Saturday, March 11, 2017, cycling participants will meet up and check-in at 10 a.m. at the Dadeland North Metrorail station, 8300 S. Dixie Hwy., Miami (on The Underline path, adjacent to US1, across from Bomnin Chevrolet). Certified ride leaders from the Everglades Bicycle Club and the Baptist Health Underline Cycling Club will lead the ride.  The 10-mile ride will depart promptly at 11 a.m. and continue north along The Underline to the party destination - “UnderLounge” at the Brickell the Metrorail station, 1001 SW 1st Ave., Miami.

Sign up to Bike The Underline.

Get tickets for UnderLounge party.

The UnderLounge will be open noon-4 p.m., and will feature the “Under-Fitness” outdoor gym with yoga, Zumba, boot-camp workouts, and a kids’ bike rodeo.  Party goers will enjoy live music performances by local talent headlined by Grammy-nominated PALO!, Elastic Bond and RioALuna; delectable food from local restaurants and free beer from The Tank Brewing Co., a fitness and bike fashion show and fun “UnderArt” action, including everything from bike art to a craft station for kids, sponsored by Worldwide Pools. Plus, lots more!

Participants also have the option of riding The Underline’s entire route or not.  Bring your bike aboard Metrorail and ride the train to Brickell Metrorail. Or walk or take Uber (use code UnderBike for new users and BIKE305 for $2 off an UberPOOL to and from the event).

This annual event, held during the County’s “Bike305 Month,” promotes riding a bicycle as the clean, healthy, fun option for commuting around town and is one of the month-long calendar of cycling activities.
