The Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works and the Friends of The Underline partner to host Earth Day event
On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017, the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works and the Friends of The Underline will host a community clean up at the future Underline.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Underline Brickell Backyard and will feature free snacks and prizes. Clean up gear will be provided on site.
Volunteers who would like to participate can sign up on Eventbrite: http://bit.ly/2nHFAPh .
When completed, The Underline will be a 10-mile linear greenway, urban trail and living art destination that will transform the previous pedestrian walkway and bike path under the Metrorail into a thriving space of natural habitats, world-class walking, running and biking facilities, inviting exercise zones and a blank canvas for local artists to contribute murals, sculptures, installations and performance art.
Those participating in the event are encouraged to take transit and exit at the Brickell Metrorail station.
For more information about transit services, or to plan a trip on transit, the public can download the free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app.
Also available from DTPW is the EASY Pay app, which allows anyone to turn their smartphone into a mobile ticket and just scan to ride. Visit EASY Pay page for more information. Transit riders now can also pay for parking via their mobile devices with the PayByPhone cashless app.
