Traffic Advisory for Bird Road/Douglas Road area
To increase water service capacity in the Bird Road/Douglas Road area, traffic will be impacted between the hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday to allow the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) to transition service from the current eight-inch water pipe servicing the Bird Road/Douglas Road area to a new 12-inch water line.
Crews will be on site each of the three evenings and lane closures will vary depending on the needed access for the construction crew. Tonight, one east bound lane on Bird Road (Southwest 40th Street) will be closed between Southwest 37th Court and 37th Avenue (Douglas Road), leaving one eastbound lane open for traffic.
On Wednesday night, the crews will be impacting the westbound lanes, with police on site to direct traffic. Thursday night will impact South Dixie Highway between Bird Road and Southwest 37th Avenue.
It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit the department’s website.
