Miami-Dade County kicked off Small Business Week with activities celebrating local entrepreneurs and small businesses
Miami-Dade County’s Small Business Development (SBD), a Division of the Internal Services Department, celebrates small business owners with a host of activities aimed at recognizing the importance of our small business community May 1 through May 5.
During Small Business Week there will be a series of events to take place over the five-day period throughout Miami-Dade County, all under the theme “Linking Small Businesses to Bigger Opportunities”. Events include a conversation with the Director in the north and south ends of the County, training and development forums, expos, vendor outreach, recognition of outstanding small businesses and more.
SBD is responsible for the administration of the County’s Small Business Enterprise, Wage and Workforce programs. SBD administers and enforces the County’s certification process for the Small Business Enterprise programs and the Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program. SBD conducts outreach events, provides management and technical assistance to small businesses, assigns small business measures on County contracts and monitors County contracts to ensure small business measures are met, to name some of the efforts to assist small businesses.
Miami-Dade County invites you to celebrate Small Business Week with SBD, local municipalities and contractors. Visit the website for more information and to RSVP. Join the conversation on Twitter with #SmallBusinessWeek.
