Transit services may be impacted during presidential
and vice-presidential visits

MIAMI (June 14, 2017)

Miami-Dade Transit services may be temporarily impacted tomorrow, Thursday, June 15, 2017, and on Friday, June 16, during visits from United States Vice President Mike Pence and President Donald Trump.

For security reasons, Metrorail and Metromover may need to stop service momentarily during the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday, June 15th, and throughout the day on Friday, June 16th.  Metrobus service may also be impacted.

Miami-Dade Transit is asking passengers to be patient and plan accordingly. Metrorail and Metromover will cease operations intermittently for as long as 25 to 30 minutes.

Metrorail riders who plan to use the Orange Line to go to Miami International Airport are encouraged to give themselves ample time to arrive to their destination on time.

Transit riders can register to receive Rider Alerts to be notified of transit service disruptions. In the event of a service disruption or delay, transit users will receive a message with details on the device of their choice. Transit users also can follow MDT on Twitter @IRideMDT .

To plan a trip on transit, download the free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app .

Also available is the EASY Pay app, which allows anyone to turn their smartphone into a mobile ticket. Visit EASY Pay page for more information. Transit riders now can also pay for parking via their mobile devices with the PayByPhone cashless app.
