Precautionary swimming advisory for East Greynolds Park, Maule Lake now lifted

MIAMI (June 15, 2017)

Based on water quality results, the precautionary advisory for recreational water activities including swimming that was originally issued Friday, June 9 that included East Greynolds Park and Maule Lake has now been lifted.

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County and the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), Division of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) have tested the affected waters and received satisfactory results.

The precautionary advisory was the result of an air release valve that broke off a 36-inch sewer line at Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 168 Street causing approximately 5,800 gallons of wastewater to enter the waterway. No further testing or monitoring is necessary.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit the department’s website.
