Department of Solid Waste Management recognizes National Garbage Man Day
The Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) proudly recognizes the hard work and contributions of all of its waste services staff during this year’s National Garbage Man Day, Saturday, June 17, 2017. DSWM management staff commends the role its operations employees play in providing high-quality and reliable waste services to more than 340,000 households in Miami-Dade County.
“I truly believe the greatest asset of an organization is the employees,” said Alina T. Hudak, Deputy Mayor and DSWM Director. “Our waste collection and disposal staff work diligently to provide our customers with a high level of service, and they serve as our first point-of-contact with our customers in the field. I join the department in recognizing and applauding all of the hard working waste management professionals here in Miami-Dade County and across the nation.”
Although National Garbage Man Day falls on Saturday, June 17th, the day will be recognized during the entire week of June 17-23, 2017. DSWM thanks all of its staff for continuing the work supporting the department’s mission of providing our customers with exceptional waste collection, recycling and disposal services that protect, preserve and improve our environment and the quality of life in our community.
The DSWM provides curbside collection and recycling services to more than 340,000 households in unincorporated Miami-Dade County and nine municipalities, including Aventura, Cutler Bay, Doral, Miami Gardens, Miami Lakes, Opa-locka, Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest and Sunny Isles Beach.
