New rebate program for high efficiency commercial toilets

MIAMI (August 15, 2017)

As part of its Water Use Efficiency Plan, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) launched a new rebate program for high efficiency flushometer valve toilets. Flushometer valve toilets are commonly used in commercial setting (high use locations i.e. restaurants, schools, office buildings, etc.) as they are more durable and can withstand greater use than a residential toilet.

Businesses are encouraged to apply to receive up to $50 per flushometer valve toilet. The toilets must be United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) WaterSense certified, which ensures they use no more than 1.28 gallons per flush, which is a 20 percent savings over the current federal standard.

“This new program is an extension of our current toilet rebate program for residential properties. It was important to extend this money saving opportunity to businesses within our community as well, who in turn also play a role in saving water,” said WASD Director, Lester Sola.

The application is available on the Water Conservation section of WASD’s website.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit the WASD website.
