Miami-Dade Parks continues to open facilities for residents post-hurricane Irma

Additional recreation centers and pools to open Thursday, September 14

MIAMI (September 14, 2017)

Staff from Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces continues to work on putting the community back together by offering more opportunities for families to release post-storm stress and enjoy each other’s company.  

The following POOLS will be open from noon – 5 p.m. Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15.   

  • Goulds 11350 SW 216 Street, Miami, FL 
  • Tamiami 11201 SW 24 Street, Miami, FL 
  • Rockway  9460 SW 27 Drive, Miami, FL 
  • Palm Springs North 7901 NW 176 Street, Miami, FL 

Additional recreation centers will be open and days have been extended through the weekend. The following recreation centers will be open from Thursday, September 14 – Sunday, September 17 from 9 am – 5 pm.  

  • Continental 10000 SW 82 Avenue, Miami, FL 33156 
  • North Point YMCA* 7351 NW 186 Street, Miami, FL 
    * North Point has lifted its membership and will be opened to the public. Showers and a lounge are available.  
  • Goulds Park 11350 SW 216 Street, Miami, FL 
  • Deerwood Bonita Lakes 14445 SW 122 Avenue, Miami, FL 
  • Gwen Cherry 7090 NW 22 Avenue, Miami, FL 
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial 6000 NW 32 Court, Miami, FL   
  • Wild Lime 14751 Hammocks Boulevard, Miami, FL 
  • Tamiami 11201 SW 24 Street, Miami, FL 

Parents may leave children ages, 6-14, at the recreation center to be supervised by parks staff. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult who is to remain with them at all time. Guest should bring lunch and drinks.  

The Sports Grill at the Palmetto Golf Course, 9300 Coral Reef Drive, Miami, is open and ready to serve from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Club at Country Club of Miami, 6801 NW 186 Street, Miami, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
