Postponement of 2017 Transportation Summit

MIAMI (September 20, 2017)

The 2017 Transportation Summit, scheduled for September 28-29, 2017, has been postponed due to impacts from Hurricane Irma.  The Transportation Trust is the sponsor of the summit in collaboration with Miami-Dade County, the Board of County Commissioners, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization, the Miami-Dade County League of Cities, the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority and the Metropolitan Center at Florida International University.

"The lingering impacts of Hurricane Irma have affected the logistics of holding a successful 2017 Transportation Summit to the point where postponing it until later in the year is the most prudent decision", commented Charles Scurr, the Executive Director of the Transportation Trust.

The Trust hopes to announce a new date soon and is currently checking available dates with the keynote speakers, panelists and Miami Dade College, which serves as host for the summit at the Chapman Conference Center at the Wolfson Campus.

The summit webpage has been updated with this information and the new date will be posted on the site as soon as it is confirmed.  We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and for additional information please call 305-779-7874.

The previously scheduled Street Plans and Miami Foundation pre-summit event, Transit Talk|Jon Ocrutt, will be presented as scheduled on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in Room 1261 at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus.  The session will feature a discussion with Jon Orcutt, Director of Communications & Advocacy at NYC-based foundation TransitCenter, on strategies for advancing large-scale transportation plans and long-term goals with small-scale projects.  For additional information contact or RSVP here.
