Lights, camera, action: Video Contest open to all high school students

MIAMI (September 27, 2017)

High school students from Miami-Dade County are encouraged get creative and produce a 20 to 30 second Public Service Announcement that demonstrates the “Value of Water” and how essential it is to daily life. The winning video will air in local theaters during the Summer of 2018 and will be promoted in the department’s website and social channels.

“This contest creates awareness on the Value of Water and how fortunate we are to have safe, high quality water in our community. I was very impressed with last year’s submissions and am looking forward to what the students come up with this year,” said Water and Sewer Department Director Lester Sola.

The videos are to be sent to by Friday, December 8, 2017. A media release form must be included during the submission. The release form, guidelines and contest details can be found at the department’s website.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit the WASD website.
